Hot Flushes!

Jeez I am so fed up with menopause today! This afternoon I went with Gordon to try and get him some shorts for summer. Believe it or not, in the land of Shorts, getting the right pair is not easy. Most of them are baggy, with pockets where pockets don't need to be or too long.

Anyway we were at the new factory outlet stores in Round Rock when suddenly a hot flush hits. It was not a hot day here in Central Texas, mid 60's at best and at the time probably about 56f as it had been raining heavily. Suddenly, I am at boiling point, my face and hands drenched with sweat. I hoped it would pass over quickly, no such luck, I had to take off my sweater. I knew before I even asked Gordon that the back of the blouse I was wearing, was soaking!

I am just so fed up with these flushes, they come mainly in the evening and the middle of the night whilst sleeping, waking me up but can be anytime, particularly after I have been eating or drinking (non alcohol). One minute I am so hot I could fry an egg with the heat I am generating and the next freezing as the sweat evaporates off my body. Even Gordon has finally got fed up with it and said I really need to get my hormones sorted out, this is a person who cannot abide anything medical!

Fortunately I have just made an appointment with new gynecologist but unfortunately it not for another for weeks, so I will have to continue to suffer until then I suppose.

Ah! Jacqui... I am 53. I have been fully Menopausal since I was 43... I remember clearly the very first serious hot flush...

Tell your husband to go jump . Hormones are not just "sorted" to everyone's satisfaction.

The worst flushes happen when people are talking at you...wanting a response etc etc judging. I could deal with the night time shit...you get hot very hot...then you get cols... accept that which is fine if no one is nagging about you to be someone else.

HRT is scary because there are definiate connections to cancer with that...proven not pie in the sky. Surely your loved ones love you enough not to want that for you just so their lives are easier?

its all good...there are natural helpful things but they don't work as quickly as do the petrochemical /pharmaceutical backed products... but these products can have devastating side effects.

I just wish all our husbands and teenage kids could have patience, and compassion and let us be who we will be at these times...often it is their pressure to be cool anc calm which makes the whole natural process much worse
