Menopause- a humerous take by MC

I have just discovered Middle Child's alternative site, can't think why I haven't looked before although I have seen her humerous takes on life before. This one just so describes my days at the moment. I just love looking at her everyday blog with all the old pictures, they really are a treasure trove for historians if they are looking.

Anyway, here I am, at 3.30 am, blogging away, feeling a slight hot flush just hitting and whiling away the night whilst everyone else is asleep. Yep, its that time again folks, trying to give up the sleep aid. Last night I manage about 55 mins sleep and tonight so far, about 20. I am going to log off this PC soon and try to sleep again.

I am trying everything under the sun to sleep naturally. Bananas and almonds are meant to help if you eat them before bed. Apparently a bath is good idea but I have yet to try that one yet. Music, soothing, not rock, will make me feel sleepy but 5 mins after switching it off I am wide awake again. TV can sent me to sleep for about 20 mins but infrequently. Milk and honey use to work but that was in the time of full fat milk, just doesn't seem to work with the 2% I have to use now. Herbal teas, lots of claims but none work. Reading just wakes me up.

It is so dam frustrating when all around me people are asleep, especially hubby, he can usually sleep through anything. The only time he has bother is when he is going back to work, like next Monday after a period off. I know that on Sunday he will have bad night and then on Monday night he will come home, sleep on the sofa for up to 2 hrs, go to bed at 11pm, read for 20 mins and be soundly asleep within 2 or 3 mins of switching the light off. He finds it simply amazing that I can go without sleep for so long! We really are the polar opposites of each other.

Anyway, I'm off now to try to get into the land of eyesand and dreams. Good night.
