Well, my good intentions of continuing a painting got waylaid again by my addiction to the PC.
I did get off for a while but earlier on I had seen a article in the Scotsman's about a new portrait of J K Rowling by stuart Pearson Wright. He is a brilliant young painter who is trying to promote figurative painting. He really doesn't need to, as his work speaks for itself. So I wrote him an email, then I got awaylaid by one of the expat boards, then I decided to look at my art website. I haven't updated it recently because basically I haven't painted much in the last year. However, I notice it didn't have a link to Stuart's webpage, so I started meddling with that and before you know it, 3pm has arrived and its almost time to collect Alan from school.
Well, hopefully that will stop soon as he will have a car but going on last night there will be a few shouting matches between father and son before that happens. I thought I had managed to solve the problem by suggesting we give both Elisabeth and Alan an interest free loan for x number of years as well as the money we had promised them. Of course nothing is quite that easy. Alan got his friend Jaime to come to school at lunch time to look at some cars at the local car lot. The car he just loves, happens to be considerable more than I think we would be prepared to loan him. So now I will have speak to him before he approaches Gordon. Wish me luck.....Alan can be very inflexible once his mind is set on something. Bit like me really
Apart from the car issue, nothing much is happening. My diet is going ok...it always does the first week, its week 3, 4 and 5 that are always the killer. Tomorrow I have the dreaded hygenist at the dentist and after that I will go with shopping list for the jewellery class. Oh well must dash, need to get a couple of things from the supper market before picking up Alan and I have to be on time as he starts work at 4.15. Until he get his own car, he is using my car to get to work.
Postscript
Well, pick up Alan from school and mentioned the "car" telling him that it would cost him about $80 a month for the next 5 yrs. With that he went ballistic. Seems we are trying to deny him a car. Given that he already has at least $80 a month committed for his phone and cat, I thought he should at least give it a thought. But no! All he wants to do is cry and rant like a little baby.

He's very lucky that you can help him in the first place, but still they don't seem to understand and always see it as you being against them. I have similar issues with Carl from time to time and it never seems to get easier. So I kinda understand what you're going through, good luck with it all and I'm sure it will work out ok in the end and good luck with the dieting, I'm having problems losing cus of the tamoxifen I take, but recently I joined curves and I think it's great
Take Care
