Mother"s day

just a couple of pics of the weekend.

Alan arrived home with all his stuff yesterday and Elisabeth is home for the night at least, so we are five some again. I love having all the family around for a few days at a time.

Today is Mother's day in the US (Mothers day in the UK is the 4th Sunday of Lent.) Emily bought me a huge bouquet of Flowers and the most delicious chocolate covered strawberries.

Elisabeth came home this afternoon and gave me a selection of stamps based on Mexican cravings. She really must be in tune with my artist endeavours at the moment as unbeknown her I have been reading about and drawing Mexican symbols for a few weeks now.

Alan forgot it was Mother's day until his girlfriend reminded him yesterday but by then it was too late as he was on his way to his best friend Anna's prom. He may sound more Texan than Scottish these day but he will never give up being proud of his roots.

I have changed the web host for my website and it not as straight forward as I thought it would be and on top of that I have lost all the old entries from my previous yahoo/wordpress blog. I really wasn't thinking when I decided to change back to Ipower as my host and now I wish I had done it. I might just cancel my domain completely as it not as if anyone is really looking at it.


Well, yesterday after I had written down my dream I did a little research and I think I have a little understanding of what it was all about.

Man = masculine side of your personality
Fish= insights brought to surface
Mother = female side of your personality
intestines = evil, disaster
poison= bitterness or bad feelings

So the men represent the masculine ambitions I have and although he wasn't a blacksmith, the black man probably was my strength and endurance. The mother wasn't actually my mother but my inner feminine self trying to comfort the disabled masculine side of me. The intestines probably means I am fearful of my ambitions or desires and the fact I didn't catch the fish means I still have way to go before I gain insight to my life. The ticks are the in insecurities I have which are hindering my my life.

I must admit the dream gave me a lot to think about as I walked around the lake in Pflugerville yesterday. Today haven't had the time as Son was home to get his outfit for a prom on Saturday except that the prom is not this Saturday but the next! He is convinced the girl told him it was on the 5th and she is equally adamant that she told him it was the 12th! So a quick call to shops concerned and it was fixed but he was lucky.

Friday already

can't believe the week has gone so quickly.

The news is still dominated by the Virginia Tech shootings. Turns out the guy was seriously deranged and a judge is maybe feeling some guilt in not following a recommendation to have him put into hospital a few years ago. However, if he had put him away, there is no way of knowing whether something similar might have happened. I am not a great believer in the 'everyone is entitled to a gun' group but then I am not inclined to believe this guy wouldn't have found those weapons regardless of what laws were in place. It might have been harder but ultimately he would have found a way to follow the rules of his universe.

Anyway on to the more mundane facts of the day, finding a simple white clutch bag for Emily's prom tomorrow. I could find some nice ones, cheap and expensive, in any colour but WHITE. Eventually I found a nice cheap one in Walmart of all places. So that is Emily set for her big day tomorrow.

Again can't believe the weeks are flying by, only 4 wks until Emily graduates. Wow, my baby all grown up.
