apart from the weather, anyway. Unusually for this part of Texas, it has been very wet this summer and slightly below normal temps which I am not going to complain about, 90f compare to the usual 99f is believe or not, so much better.
So this afternoon I have been playing with some polymer clay. I got a whole stash of it about 18 months ago when I was convinced I would be busy making little figures. Well, I didn't bargain on being too clumsy for such a task, so that soon fell by the side. Anyway, for my July journal page, I had the brilliant idea of using my memory of Carnac in Brittany from our trip last summer. I had gotten some beads on Friday to work with but they weren't quite right for what I had in mind. So this afternoon as a way of relaxing and becoming more free with my work, I got busy mushing up some clay. Fortunately I am very good at making mud. So now I am all set for starting my July page, however before that I have finish June. It getting there but beading a piece measuring about 9"7" is actually a lot of beads as I have found out!
After that I did some browsing of some blogs. I actually came across a blog that spoke to my pride the other day. I have taken the liberty to copy what she said
" was also looking at my list of blogs that I visit and the list of blogs that are on other people's blogs. I look for mine there. I don't see it that often but I was thinking that it would be a real compliment to see my blog on someone else favourite list. I was also remembering when an artist I knew re-formatted her list and took my name off her blog and the slight hurt I felt at that."
I must admit I thought I was the only one who thought that way to be honest. I remember being really offended when someone deleted me from their blogroll which is stupid because I don't know anyone on these blogs, so why was I offended?
Then I discovered bloglines and so now I only add a blog or website that I don't see linked to the blogs I normally visit. On my bloglines I have 4 categories, craft, fine art, bead journal and personal with 45 feeds. Some weeks it can be more or less as every month or so I go through the list and see if they are still posting. Getting bloglines has been so much better as I can go there in the morning, check to see if there are any news posts and it can be done in 30 mins most days. Of course then I look to see if anyone has commented and if it someone new I will check out their blog which means the 30 mins can quickly become a few hours if I am in the mood to follow the trail of comments to new blogs.
So if you don't see your name on my blogroll, please don't be offended, it really isn't personal.

We cannot possibly enjoy everyone's blog. I have ruthlessly removed from my blogroll anyone who I just don't connect with anymore.
It's not meant as a personal insult to that person, just that I don't identify with their lives or their writing. The person may be lovely, but just not my type of blogger. And seeing as there are SO MANY blogs to read, one has to be selective.
And I love Bloglines. Right now I have 97 feeds, but I update it regularly. Sometimes there are more, sometimes less.
I do the same and that is why I was puzzled why I was so upset. If I kept all the blogs I subscribed to on bloglines I would be in the many hundreds by now, so I know why people deselect blogs. Personally I don't know that I would actually keep on my blog if I had it on bloglines but that another story!
Yes i remember being really pleased that someone whose blog i read had listed mine in her favourites....i think even tho i try and write it regularly i'm never sure that people read it...but they obviously do becasue they comment!xx
