Our Pets

I thought I would post some pics of our pets. We started with Angus in Nov 2002, just after we moved into this house. We went for walk in the park and came back with a 6 week old puppy.

Just after the new year, 2003, I was in Petsmart getting some food for Angus when I saw Zephyr for the first time. I made the mistake of mentioning her to Elisabeth my eldest and she duly trotted off with her boyfriend to see her. It was love at first sight. So we got Zephyr when she was about12 weeks old. Unfortunately just a couple of months later, she had a serious accident which cause major brain damage and she has never been the same again. She use to be such a lively kitten but now she barely moves unless it is for food. But she does love to have her chin rubbed and she talks to us, I know that's hard to believe but its true.

After Zephyr's accident (which we had to hand feed her for 3 weeks, she was blind and crippled for few weeks as well) we debated about how to get her back to normal. I thought another cat might be answer. So I kept looking at Petsmart but none of them seemed to the right one or right age. Then I came across a website where the person rescued cats and dogs that would be killed if they had stayed in the animal shelter, usually because they were very sickly.

I knew as soon as I saw Mo, she was the right cat for us. She basically the same age as Zephyr and hopefully they would get on together. Well, they do sort of get on but as Zephyrs was more brain damaged than we thought (she started to have the odd fit just after Mo arrived), they are not the companions we thought they might be .

Finally we have the baby of the family, the kitten Alan bought home at the end of June. She has settled in really well.

Alan does his best at looking after but in truth, it's me who really looks after her. She will no doubt be grumpy tonight as we took her for her first shots this morning. He named her Skara Brae
