Well, as usual I had good intentions of not spending too much time on the PC and normally on a Saturday, the lurking of Gordon in the background, can manage to curb my habit of wasting away hours in front of the screen. However, today is the day, he and Alan are looking at car lots. I doubt they will last long as the day is hot already and Gordon hates car shopping.
As it is he managed to guilt me indirectly this morning already. He got a new mountain bike for his birthday the other week and this morning he went for ride in a local biking area. As he was out, the dog wasn't getting walked. I knew by the time he got back it would be way too hot so I took Angus for his walk. I didn't intend to walk for too long as even at 9am the temp was in the mid 80's and with the heat index, it felt like the low 90's. However, I had my MP3 player, my sunglasses and my trusty straw hat, so I was contend and ended up walking for 50mins, not the 15 mins I planned. Poor Angus was shattered at the end. If I had known that I would end up walking for so long, I would have taken some water with me.
Anyway I needed the exercise, next week I will resume going to the YMCA. Start of lightly as I haven't really exercised in 3 months, so I am bound to end up sore for a few days. I wish it would lead to some weight lost but it hasn't happened in the past so why should it now.
If Alan gets a car this week, it will mean that some changes will be occurring around here in the next month or so. For the past 19 yrs apart from a few months working at Sky Tv in Dunfermline, I haven't worked. However, from next year we will have 2 kids at college at time until at least 2010. 2 lots of university fees from one salary just doesn't happen (unless you are rich). As it was our choice to move to the States, we consider it unfair for the kids to pay for their fees and other expenses. So the pressure is on me now to get out and find a job. Should be interesting. What does a person who hasn't worked for 19 yrs actually do?
Mental breakdown about to commence
