Christmas Eve

and I actually went to weight watchers at 7.45 this morning as they only have one session to day and reached my 25lb mark....must admit was somewhat suprised as I haven't exactly been watching what I eat or drink for the past few days. The way I look at it, is Christmas is a once year event where I get to relax, eat and drink with my family so if I gain a pound or 2, it will just be a few more weeks before I get to my goal weight. As I have another 59lbs to go, its a while to go anyway.

Anyway, as I have already indicated I am now in the relax, eat and drink mode. I am currently doing a beaded doll which is very restful actually. Unfortunately, I think my eldest daughter is finding all too relaxing at home, as she has spent the last 2 nights at friends in Austin, no doubt doing what she shouldn't be doing...drinking. Unfortunately, for Elisabeth, she is still only 20, 5 months shy of her 21st. So any drinking is done in closeted world of other people's apartments until she can hit the clubs with gay abandonment the day she hits 21. I personally think it is ridiculous they can't drink until they are 21 because it doesn't actually stop them from drinking. Far from it, only last weekend an 18 yr died from alcohol poisoning at a Frat party/hazing event at University of Texas in Austin. Apparently there is a move to cut the drinking age but only in few states, particularly the ones which have a large number serving in the forces. Seem only right if you are old enough to fight and died for your country, you should be at least thought adult enough to have a drink!

My latest project is coming along at a great rate plus it is stopping me from eating and drinking too much!.

I came across these dolls whilst researching art dolls and they immediately appealled to my inner art god plus my passion for cross stitch. There are some wonderful examples to be found on the internet. this artist is one really good example At the moment I am somewhat limited by the beads I have and I am reluctant to purchase too many as they can be expensive however, must admit I really enjoying the free form nature of this art.

Well, had better go for now, especially as this post has been even harder to type that normal as Skara our youngest cat is feeling a little put out at the moment by the arrival of Elisabeth's cat Rascal (formerly Skye - see post). So she was insisting on standing on lap and pushing her rear end into my face whilst I tried to type. Then she would notice the words appearing on the screen so would pad over the keyboard to touch the screen! At the moment she is having a face off with the dog...she is not the friendliest cat in the world to be honest, in fact she can be nasty at times.

Have a good Christmas everyone.
