and its almost the end of September! Yesterday it reached 106f and today its already 92f at only 10.50. Apparently there is a cold front coming and temps should go down to the seasonal norm. I hope so, really could do with nice cool mornings and some rain, believe it or not. Had barely any rain since the middle of August and in July I think it rain for a couple of days at the beginning of the month. How I long for the sharp cold frosts we would have at this time of year in Scotland. Use to love walking the dog, huddled up in my warm hat and scarf.
Well after the drama of the previous week, things settled down. Alan went to see his therapist and she managed to get to see the most sensible thing to do, was to return to school. She will be seeing him on weekly basis for the time being, as she feels (as I did) that he needs some assertiveness training. Alan used to have a terrible temper when he was younger and we obviously over stressed the need for him to contain that anger, as now he has turned inward and he lacks the ability to express his opinion other than to get over stressed by the situation. Anyway hopefully, things will get better and he certainly seems to be enjoying his new job.
My husband phoned my eldest daughter last night and we had to laugh about some news she told him. Her kitten, Skye is not a she but a he. Given that Skye must be about 3 months old now, it has taken her long enough and she is studying for a biology major! The one piece of news that she didn't tell him is that she has had a tattoo on her back. When Alan first told me she had a tattoo done, I thought it would be a small one on her shoulder, so did Alan. Nope she had to have the whole wide of her back done! Its of 2 doves holding a heart with ribbons and flowers and is dedicated to my Dad, Daddy Del.
I really don't know what it is with my kids. We hate body piercing, both Alan and Elisabeth have them, we hate tattoos, both Alan and Elisabeth have them and we are most definitely anti smoking but both of them smoke. Emily is our only hope now. It really pisses me off when I see the current advertising on TV, if you talk to your kids they wont do this or that. Like hell they wont!
Anyway off now to vacuum the carpets before getting onto my latest fad, polymer clay. Its really in line with jewellry but its great fun so far.
