as I actually achieved all the things I set out to do (apart from the filing, just can't seem to find time for that!).
Anyway, I have been timing myself doing the simple chores and then the bigger ones. Like unloading, loading the dishwasher and wiping down the kitchen surfaces. It takes an average of 20 mins believe it or not. Then the simple task of sweeping the kitchen floor, takes 15 mins (we have large kitchen/eating area). Today I did my bathroom and it took 2 hours, even the small toilet room took 18 mins and I didn't even wash the floor!
Trouble is that I always get into my head that these things take a few minutes and then I am surprise when I run out of time. No wonder my house is a mess, I don't allot the time it takes to do it. The one thing that always surprises me in this house is the amount of dust that can built up. It was probably did the same in Scotland but it was too dark to see it!
So why am I am bothering with all this, because I waste an unbelievable amount of the day doing nothing, especially on the PC and watching TV. I am determine to change that and one of the ways I can do that is making lists. Weird I know but I like lists. I can work to lists. It might be something to do with childhood conditioning as both my Mum and that greatest of all influence, My Nan loved lists, especially giving them out for me or my sisters to do.
Anyway, in my endeavour to become more productive, I have a white board on the wall, directly in front of me, as I sit here on the PC. Its like a niggling little itch constantly in front of me. In addition to the board, I have made up a daily chores to do list on One Note. I love the little red tick in the box showing I have done what I was meant to do.
The good thing about this productivity, it means I don't feel guilty about being creative.
