by Gina so here goes. 8 interesting or not so interesting facts about me.
1. I worked at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane London when I was still at school as a dishwasher. Because I was studying for my 'O'level exams they would put me on the Penthouse floor as there wasn't really that much to do, so I could study. I never met anyone famous unfortunately but I did get to tour around the suite were Elizabeth Taylor stayed when she was in London.
2. At the same hotel, I watched as a call for Melba Toast was made, late in the breakfast serving period. The Head Waiter dived straight into the bin (trash) and retrieved the piece he had just thrown in there from a returned tray.
3. I had a huge crush on Derek Jacobi (UK actor, I Claudius) and send him several of my drawings. I was heartbroken when an actress I was working with, told me he was gay.
4. When I was younger I always wore a hat of some sort.
5. I nearly chopped the top off a finger when I was cutting up a stick of rock I was told by my Mum to share with my sisters. I decided the easy way to do it was with a chopping knife but unfortunately I forgot to move my finger. As Mum was out, I went running to my friend's house with it hanging to one side. Her mum took one look, said that must be sore and wrapped a plaster (band aid) around it. I was about 10yrs old at the time.
6. I got very drunk at family party (a 40th wedding anniversary) when I was 16 and kept singing "we all live a yellow submarine" and handed out flowers that were on the table. My family thought it was hilarious but I didn't the next day. I still don't like rum.
7. I hate broad beans, even the smell of them makes me want to vomit.
8. My Mum picked apples to make ends meet. At the end of the season, the farmer gave her several pounds for herself. She put them, wrapped in paper, in an old suitcase under my bed for Christmas. Unfortunately, by the time Christmas came by, all the apples had been eaten. All that was left in the suitcase were the rotting cores!
Gosh these tags get harder and harder to create. I suspect my whole life is out there by now via various tags of one sort or another.
Now I need to tag to other people. Paposue, Wendz, MC, the Grumpy Shopkeeper
the Situation in the house has now resolved itself but it was close run thing this time to be honest.

I quite like broad beans, but only ever eat them when I am in the UK - I've never seen them in South Africa and not in France either. Delicious steamed and served with real butter.
And you know what - apples are not really my thing - I eat them if I am starving and there's nothing else around but I prefer fruit like grapes, watermelon and plums.
Okay, the cut finger thing...totally grossed me out! I LOVE Derek Jacobi, and was equally crushed to learn he was gay. And like Wendz, I prefer other fruits to apples, though I do enjoy a good Pink Lady or Pacific Rose apple when they're in season. I don't even know what broad beans are. If they're like lima beans, count me among those who dislike them.
Thanks for your comments on my blog Jacqui. You tagged me! I don't know if I can think of 8 interesting things about me - I will try, but if it proves too difficult you will have to accept my excuses! x
You tagged me Jacqui...so have done it...now reading yours
