which is fitting for such a sombre day. Not much I can say about the subject other than it will happen again, maybe not this year or the next but in future as no-one seems to have the willpower to stand up to the gun lobby.
The cable news predictably have had wall to wall coverage and, of course, they are trying to find someone to blame as they always do. Apparently, the police and the university administration should have foreseen that 2 hours after apparently shooting 2 people, in what appeared to be a domestic issue, the gunman would go on a rampage. Are they meant to be psychic or something? If you worked on that premise, giving the number of random domestic shooting that occur in this country, the whole country would be on lock down.
I really don't know what the answer is and like everyone, struggling to wonder why a suicidal man would think he should take down a complete group of strangers with him.
I was talking to my youngest daughter yesterday on the way to taking her to work about the incident. It seems to me there is a air of futility in the air around the world and everyone is angry about something. Maybe the Internet and globalisation as my husband says just makes it seem like that but I really do think the world is very depressed at the moment. No wonder religion is making such a comeback because at least it gives people a hope but unfortunately a lot of that hope is based on the end of the world. Not so sure that's a good thing.
