So the new year begins

and I will not make any resolutions because I can never keep to the damm things.

The actual hour passed with me dead to world as I went to bed at 11pm, exhausted from getting up at 4am. Not that I really missed anything as we were watching "Miami Vice" the movie. I hadn't fancied it but as we were getting 3 dvds out, I figured one should be Gordon's choice at least. It was bad, confirmed by husband and son.

Today has been quiet. I called Mum and Dad to wish them a good new year. Done some washing, put on the dishwasher and watched a lot of TV, a normal day really. For the past hour or so I have been browsing the internet, catching up on people's blogs and the UK newspapers. Executing Saddam was probably not the best thing to do in the world, creating a martyr for the Sunnis and it was ulgy by all accounts, very tribal.

Now I will attempt to start on the filing which has been piling up since Jan 2006 when I last attempted to do. I failed but with tax filing time, I need,at least, to get some reciepts filed. Never had so much paper in the UK but here it just seems to increase as the years flow by.

Re the comment in by Lorraine to "jobs or lack of them", living in the US is not cheap, certainly not as cheap as most people in the world or the USA seem to think it is but I seem to be running against the grain with that feeling.

Fully agree...Saddam jailed for life and forgotten would be much less a martyr figure than he is now...and also eye for an eye...tooth for a tooth never works...just leads to barbarism
