Not that I can actually vote, so the reason I am grateful,is the fact all the crappy political ads will stop. All the pundits are predicting that the Democrats will take the House but not the Senate. They need 6 seats for the Senate but are only predicted to take 5. However, over the last few days the TV pundits have been talking non stop about a republican comeback and that George Bush's approval rating have actually increased over the past week. With that I am becoming increasingly convinced that even if the Democrats do gain some House and Senate seats, it wont be as good as expected. If that is the case then, even if they lose the House, the Republicans have won because their lost isn't as bad as feared.
Whatever the outcome, tonight will be long one because Gordon will be glued to the TV watching the events unfold. The one beam of good light will be the live broadcast of the Daily show. I hope that the Dems win well, as I think Gordon will sink into a deep depression if his worst fears of the American electorate are confirmed. Of course it doesn't help that we are in the most liberal area in Texas, so Gordon views are echoed all around him at work.
As for me, I am bewildered by the whole system and lost faith in it a long long time at go. Seems to me that money is the only way to get into power over here and if you are poor in general(Bill Clinton seems to be an exception), you have very little say in what is happening.
