our new reclinging sofa has arrived

the cat (skara) is finding it very comfty.

and Gordon found that despite being narrower than our previous couch, he is still able to sleep ok.

I don't understand my kids and I try not to pretend that I do but its hard sometimes. Alan, is the one I worry about most and he know its, which must be hard for him because I am over anxious with him. I really really can't decipher him at all.

NEXT PASSAGED DELETED

Not to worry, why should we worry? The US system is that you have follow a prescribed program over the 4 yrs you are in High school, a graduation plan and If you don't graduate with the prescibed credits, you don't get a high school diploma and you can't go to university or do much else to be honest. The UK system with all its faults is a much better one, to be honest.

Anyway he has now got himself a job, down at schlitterbahn as a lifeguard which means he has to find accommodation for the summer. At the moment, the plan is to live with his sister for duration in San Marcos. Hopefully a summer away from home will help him become more focus on his future.

This morning I was watching some video of the kids when they were young. We actually have interviews with them when Elisabeth was 7, Alan 5 and Emily 3. Unfortunately I couldn't get the DVD program that I downloaded to work properly so only the first part of the DVD got copied onto the Hard drive. I have uploaded that onto photobucket if anyone wants to see it. Its interesting to see them so young and to know what they are like now. They really haven't changed that much. Elisabeth (girl at the end of video) is still looking for approval (mainly from her Dad) Alan is very introspective and Emily( on slide) goes still goes head first :) There I go again, trying to understand the kids, how can I? I don't even understand myself yet :(

POSTSCRIPT TO ABOVE:

As you can see from the comment below, Alan was very upset with me, sharing details of his life to world (all 2 people who read this blog) so I deleted the offending piece. I don't hide my blog from my kids, so in all likelihood I will offend them from time to time. I don't mean to but sometimes I can be a bit thoughtless. So kids, keep posting your comments because I prefer to know that let something fester.
