about our trip to Scotland and France in the summer and beginning to check out flights. At the moment it seems we would be considerably better off either booking a flight from Austin - Paris or Glasglow and then separate flights for the next part of the journey. For example: Austin to Glasgow $988 Edi to Paris $141.00 = $1129. However, it you use the multi trip planner that most sites have Austin-Glasgow-Paris = $1769. A big difference, $640 saving x 4 = $2560. And that was just a brief look. Last night Gordon found a flight to Paris from Prestwick which was £30 return which is about $53. So for the next week or so I will be wading through the sites and seeing what I can get.
Of course, we wont be booking flights until Alan has his interview with immigration people in San Antonio next week. I don't foresee any problems but the lawyer the company has hired, has told Alan, the guy who is suppose to be interviewing him is a bit of hard nut. This has obviously put the fear of God into Alan, as he has put his job search on hold until he gets his green card (he has his work permit). Anyway this time next week we will be almost there and Alan's wait will be almost over, then he can get on with life.
There is no drawing today, I failed miserably to put pencil, crayon, pastel or any type of drawing implement onto paper. Instead, I browse through 2 books I got through Amazon and ogled many delightful doll/bead sites on the web. There are so many talented people out there, its amazing. You go to one site and that has links to another, on and on it goes until suddenly the day has gone!
Here are some of the sites I have come across in the past couple of months.
Mo'a Romig-Boyles a doll maker, she also has a blog where she posted pictures of the Jolasveinar, 13 little characters from Icelandic tradition leading up to Christmas.
Weeone originals Dolls by Kelly Bell.
Wild spirit Design Bead work and mixed media
That just some of the sites I have been exploring recently. It so easy to get addicted to other websites.
Oh, the other thing I did yesterday, was email my resume to some employment agencies but not even an acknowledgement yet, that they had received them. Will need to do some chasing up on that.
My Mum just called and says she is booking her flight to arrive on 18th May for 3 weeks. Asked about whether she had adequate health insurance and she said 'oh yes' Reminded her she would need a minimum of $100,000 and once she looked she realised nope she didn't have enough, nowhere near. So I am also going to be looking into travel health insurance for her. Any advice Charlie, as to where the best place might be?
